Italis-New music coming soon

Italis-New music coming soon

(Benny Page & Italis)

“With a following that is already strong in Europe, British producer Benny Page plans to bring his style to a new project involving dancehall and reggae acts which he hopes will help him gain new fans in Jamaica and the United States. Having been in Jamaica for just over a week, Benny Page says he has already done work with acts such as Jah Vinci, Italis, Assassin and Richie Loop.”…courtesy of The Gleaner

About Italis:

Patrick Anthony Willis’ entrance into the world is as extraordinary as he is. One September 3rd afternoon more than three decades ago, Patrick’s mother Maulese gave birth to the artist the world would come to know and love as Italis…”on the side of the road,” in the lush parish of Portland, Jamaica. “I was born in the streets, so it will be hard for anyone to get me out,” Italis laughs.

As a child, his unusually deep voice, inherited from his dad and grandfather made him a “celebrity at church.” Not only did he sing with the choir, he was often asked by the pastor to preach. There was just that special something his voice conveyed, that the congregation couldn’t seem to get enough of.
Inspired at an early age by the crowned Prince of Reggae Dennis Brown, Italis knew that a career in music was his destiny. He spent many hours listening to artists like Papa San, Ninja Man , Garnet Silk, I-Wayne and Bushman, and developed over time, a deeper appreciation for his roots and a desire to express himself through music. “Although I am mainly a dj, the singers are the ones who inspired me the most. Dennis Brown is the artist I listened to and was inspired by more than anyone.”

As Italis got older, his voice became deeper. So deep in fact, his sound would often times be mistaken for popular dancehall icon, Buju Banton. “I love Buju Bantan. He is also an inspiration. People tell me I sound like him all the time. I can’t help that. This is just me. Naturally.”

Discovered by reggae producer Donald Grant, better known as Danny Champagne, Italis describes Danny as his mentor. “Danny showed me the way and gave me the encouragement I needed to pursue my career.”
It was also Danny Champagne who would introduce Italis to the four-time Grammy Award winning producer, Tony ‘CD’ Kelly, who recognized immediately the potential in this young artist. After all, it was Tony ‘CD’ Kelly who was one of the first producers to voice Buju Bantan while working at Shocking Vibes. Greatness recognized.

After recording two hit singles, “It’s Really This” featuring singjay Dre Zee and “Money” on Tony’s K..Licious Label, Italis also got another 2012 hit which features Shaki on Shaggy’s “Calabash” riddim called “Sexy For Ya”. This artist however, should not be mistaken for an upcoming artist, as Italis aka Patrick Anthony, has been in the industry for close to a decade. Recording for John Baker and Jade Productions earlier in his career, has seen him collaborating with artists such as mainstreams, Mario and Wclef Jean, as well as Zoe, Alborosie and Sizzla.

This artist has a catalogue of hits under his belt, and many are available for purchase on iTunes.

Italis in 2013 is poised and ready to show fans of great reggae music what he is made of. New year new material; as Til Shilo Music/Golden House Records based in Jamaica, has recently released three singles from Italis’ upcoming album, “Rocksteady”.

“Bundle A Calli” on the Tidal Sequence riddim, “Dash It Whe” on The Journey riddim, and “Reminisce” on the Sky High riddim are currently making waves on the radio and across the internet.

As an independent artist, Italis is focused and taking the reins in regards to his career. He has shared the stage with numerous reggae and dancehall artists, and is determined to become that household name. His raw talent and undeniable lyrical skills will take him where he needs to go. His humble demeanor and magnetic personality will definitely keep him there.

“I am a GOD-fearing youth. My life is to to make others joyful.”…

The Top Ten Most Irritating Things About Facebook

The Top Ten Most Irritating Things About Facebook

…or should I say: ‘that people do on facebook?’…whatever!
This photo has nothing to do with facebook, or this blog. But isn’t it lovely?
I took it myself on Hellshire Beach in Jamaica. It actually reminds me of my first
gripe about facebook. (In no particular order)…

10. Saving other people’s photos, then uploading them as your own. Not cool!

9. Having a profile photo and albums of photos of yourself that’s like twenty years old. Then having the nerve to see one of your fb friends in the street, and be offended when you’re not recognized.

8. Having a name longer than two sentences

7. Hitting like on every blasted thing without reading it. For example someone wrote: “my dad passed away today”…why on earth would you hit ‘like’?

6. Telling us every move you intend to make that day. I mean every move. It’s really not that serious. Trust me. Little Billy’s dental appointment, or your bunion surgery can stay private.

5. Don’t lie about your relationship status either. It’s ok to be single. If ‘it’s complicated’…that means yu single. Accept it.

4. Stop with these damn bathroom pix. Find a friend and give them your phone to snap a good pic of you. Preferably outdoors. If you can’t do that, there has got to be some place else in the house that has a mirror. If you insist on the bathroom as your backdrop, clean it. If you can’t clean it…at least draw the shower curtain and close the lid to the toilet.

3. If you’ve got something personal to say to someone…pick up your phone and tell them. If you don’t have their number, inbox them. No one really cares about the war between you and yu baby-daddy, yu neighbor, yu landlord or yu matey.

2. The funeral photos…not cute. If the person in the casket didn’t have a facebook page when they were vertical, why on earth would you think they’d appreciate a photo of themselves while permanently horizontal published on the net?

1. The lies. Oh the flossing and the lies. You know that’s not your Jaguar you posing next to. You know the beauty parlor waiting to repossess the lace front. You know the girl you blocked is the owner of the shoes. You know that’s not a real Gucci purse. You know we know that you can’t even find two sticks to rub together like most folks now a days. You know you posing in the dressing room trying on clothes and shoes you can’t afford…but taking pics like they yours. You know we know but nah tell you that we know what you think only you know. Save it. Just BE YOURSELF. Stop pretending. Keep it real. It’s hard outta road and we all know that. If you have to pretend, then you don’t have real friends.

Not every status on facebook is about you. Why so jumpy? Chill. Stop taking everything so personal. That’s your conscience talking.

Now, run along and socialize…life short.
Have fun.
I am…hehehee

God A God!

I know everyone is busy and have their own agenda. Most don’t like to read. I know I don’t…(there has to be pictures)

Anyway…I hope you will read this.

I have had some things on my mind recently and the devil wanted me to stress.
I was stressing about three weeks ago…then I read Mark 11 (again)…I invite you to read it as well.

I made a firm decision that all doubt and stress is of the beast. Mi nuh inna nutten with the beast…soooo, I made a decision to NOT STRESS ABOUT ANYTHING ANYMORE.
I got to my knees and talked to GOD. I told GOD that I was placing all the things that were of concern to me at HIS feet. I did just that. I didn’t know what I was going to do…so I let go and let GOD.

I didn’t know how GOD was going to fix my issues, but that was ok. GOD a GOD. If I knew, I wouldn’t need faith. Faith is believing and knowing that all will be well without having a clue as to how.

We have to understand that GOD LOVES to be called upon. He loves to SHOW us how much He is the ONLY ONE really in control…no matter how much we think we are.

The very next day…I got the first miracle.
When I say miracle…I mean miracle. I fell to my knees and said the only thing I could say to my Creator…THANK YOU FATHER! Sometimes that is alllllllll anyone needs to say.

One hurdle crossed…another still remained…and I know more will always come.

I went to sleep last night after having a prayer with a friend of 31 years on the phone. We each have mountains that needs to be cast into the sea…so we did just what we KNEW we had to do. We got on our knees…covered our heads in reverence and PRAYED in earnest with no doubt in our hearts.

The bible says where two or three are gathered, GOD is right there in the midst. Sometimes we have to go to GOD with a companion and declare and claim what we want. Remember, when more than one stand and come to GOD in agreement…you see the results even quicker. We both went to our Father together…we talked, He listened.

Listen I know he did. Why?
I just got a call from a most unexpected source a few minutes prior to writing this. GOD touched someone and praise JESUS…a second miracle.
People…GOD a GOD!
Let me repeat that…GOD a GOD!

He wants to prove to us and the naysayers among us just how powerful He is.
Won’t you give Him a chance? I won’t say put Him to the test because we can’t test the Most High…but won’t you please give Him a try??? He is not called King of Kings and Lord of Lords and the Most High GOD for nothing.

Try GOD!

My birth verse speaks of faith.
Faith is the first thing I was taught as a child.
I always have faith.
When you feel as if you can’t have faith and you don’t know how to have faith…that’s PRECISELY the moment you NEED to have faith. That’s when yu shame the beast and mek im run.

I bet if we all turn off the cell, the laptop, the tv and all distractions for an hour and reflect on our lives, we would see and count just how many times GOD has showed up and come through for us and we gave His credit to someone else. Stop! Think. Who was it really? Only GOD. Spend an uninterrupted hour with the Creator who designed you in His image and knows everything about the special person you are. Who is your best friend? The all powerful Being. How cool is that? (What a friend we have in Jesus) Indeed!

I remember asking a man one time who was mad at me for reading my little Bible on the job, who he thought woke him up this morning. He proudly said, ‘my alarm clock’. He was serious…and I pitied him.
I wish he knew the GOD I know. My GOD loves to be loved. He loves to be called. He loves to be invited. He smiles at us. He wants to please us and be with us. Won’t you invite Him in? He gave us free will…He won’t come if we don’t ask. So please, ask!

One more thing…are you listening?
Why do I ask this? Well, many people pray and then say their prayers weren’t answered. All prayers are answered. Sometimes the answers are no. Sometimes the answers may be through a comment from a stranger on the street passing by speaking to someone else…or a headline in the paper…or a child’s song or whisper…or a phone call…OR…my favorite…THE FIRST THING THAT COMES INTO YOUR HEART…YOUR MIND. That’s usually GOD talking. Are we listening? Not always. Something will be sitting in our hearts, but because we don’t want the answer to be the one that the Lord knows is best for us, but the one WE want…we ignore it. Whenever we ignore the truth and go against our hearts…wi muss pap dung! ‘Every action has a reaction.’…B. Marley

I am going to climb out of this bed and say: ‘Thank you GOD’ and ask for protection as I head out into Father GOD’s sunlight. I pray for all the blessings for each and everyone today.
Some say they don’t know how to pray. Why not? It’s not an art. It’s you talking to GOD like how you talk to someone in front of you. Sometimes the only thing you need to say is: ‘Thank you GOD and Lord, PLEASE have mercy on me and help me’. Simple.

If you can’t do that…write a Dear GOD letter. Type it out and read it everyday. Put everything in it you need to say. Just invite GOD to stay close. He will.

BLESSINGS TO ALL!!!
